Ayurveda & Stillness
Seven days in Bentota with a doctor, a routine and no itinerary.
This one is deliberately close to empty. A consultation on arrival sets your treatments for the week, and the rest of the day is yours. We've left three afternoons free on purpose — the river, the gardens and the turtle hatchery are there if you want them.
What you'll remember
- Consultation with a registered Ayurvedic physician on day one
- Daily treatments prescribed to you, not to a package
- Lunuganga — Geoffrey Bawa's country garden
- Kosgoda turtle hatchery at dusk, when they're released
The route
Day by day
What actually happens.
Ninety minutes from the airport. A physician takes your pulse, your history and your sleep, and sets a plan for the week. Dinner is prescribed too, which surprises most people.
Included
- Six nights, full board on the prescribed Ayurvedic diet
- Opening and closing consultations with a registered physician
- Daily treatments and medicines
- Daily yoga and meditation
- Airport transfers both ways
Not included
- International flights and the ETA
- Alcohol, which the diet excludes anyway
- Excursion entrance fees
When to go
The west coast is driest from November to April. Centres run year-round, but from May to September the south-west monsoon puts heavy afternoon rain over Bentota and the sea gets rough for swimming.
Most visitors need a Sri Lanka ETA before travelling. We send you the current link and a filled-in checklist once you've booked — but check your own government's advice too, because the rules move.
